    The next milonga at the Phillips Recreation Center (Springfield & McCullough,
    Urbana) is Sat March from 9 PM -12:30 AM. This is a 'graduation' milonga.
    Students from Andrea & Juan's, Joe & Carlota's, and Ron & Susana's beginner
    tango classes will have the floor and do a tango for us. Please come and
    welcome the new tango students to our community. There will be refreshments
    available.

    Prior to the milonga (7:30 PM) there will be a lesson for newcomers to tango
    given by Andrea Newhouse and Juan Fedele.

    The cost of admission to the milonga is $3, and the lesson costs $5 and
    includes admission to the milonga.

    The series of tango workshops given by Fred and Yermen Romero will continue,
    with workshops in the afternoon at the Illini Union (Room 314-A). For those
    who attended the workshops on Feb 16:

    PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN TIME & LOCATION & ORDER OF WORKSHOPS.

    You need not have taken the workshops on Feb 16 to join this workshop series.
    This series of workshops will continue on Apr 13 and Apr 27.

    (1) Milonga [2:00 - 3:30 PM]

    Milonga is the predecessor of tango and is still very popular today. This
    series of workshops will concentrate on: the structure and styling of
    milonga, connection with the rhythm and interpretation of the music, and
    building of patterns for navigating around the dance floor, using effective
    leading and following.

    (2) Salon Style Tango [3:45 - 5:15 PM]

    This is the popular elegant style of tango that arose in Buenos Aires during
    the 1940s, the Golden Age of Tango, and is the foundation from which stage
    tango evolved. This series of workshops will concentrate on: technique for
    effective leading and following within the standard repertoire of tango
    patterns, the use of adornments within the context of pattern building, and
    musicality (the matching of tango patterns to musical phrasing).

    Pre-requisite for workshop series:
    - Successful completion of a beginner level tango course.

    Cost:
    - 1 Workshop: $20 (Students: $15)
    - 2 Workshops: $35 (Students: $25)
