The IMD connection also ends in case NAMD crashes. In this case you may find useful information at the end of the namd log in the working directory of qwickmd.

Betreff: vmd-l: Error connecting to localhost on port 3000 and IMD connection ended unexpectedly; connection terminated.

Dear VMD freinds:

I had once successfully installed and run Qwikmd in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS using following packages

1.VMD 1.9.3 beta 1 ( <http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Development/Download/download.cgi?UserID=&AccessCode=&ArchiveID=1420> LINUX_64 OpenGL, CUDA, TachyonL-OptiX)

2. NAMD 2.11 ( <http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Development/Download/download.cgi?UserID=&AccessCode=&ArchiveID=1399> Linux-x86_64-multicore-CUDA)

3. NVIDIA Linux driver (LINUX X64 (AMD64/EM64T) DISPLAY DRIVER 367.57)

4. Cuda 8.0 linux toolkit 14.04

in Xeon E5-2679 + GTX970 desktop computer

But after repeatedly rebooting from monitor wakeup freeze issue, the system was crashed.

After reinstalling all these components, the QwikMD meet IMD ended unexpectedly.

Having test many possibilities and even reinstalled twice without any success.

I guess I really miss something important and really need some VMD experts helps. Thanks

sincerely,

Jrhau
