Can 'nonbonded interaction parameters' be ignored in the parameter file?

Hi, everyone:
  In the parapeter sector of NAMD-turotial , it says "The NONBONDED statement includes a list of parameters which are used as defaults by the program
CHARMM, but are ignored by NAMD". Since it's ignored by NAMD, can I just ignore these paremeters and don't put them in the paremeter file?
