this is really more a question for a forum concerning the OS that you
are using (you don't say and also whether you are running in serial or
parallel and across how many nodes/cores if parallel).
swap isn't RAM and swap is slow (like several orders of magnitude
slower). so you are likely better off either getting access to a
larger/better machine or picking a smaller target for your
simulations.
