I am new to NAMD and am working my way through all of the tutorials. I have downloaded the windows version 2.7B2_win32 (to a window's XP computer). I seem to be unable to run any of the sample simulations from the NAMD tutorials (the input files were downloaded from the tutorial site so I know the problem isn't with the input files). when I follow the instructions for running the simulation i.e. "namd2 ubq_wb_eq.conf > ubq_wb_eq.log" I receive the following error. When I go to the directory with namd2 and try to run just namd2 (without any input files) the program exits with an error. When I alter the directory path of namd2 (to specify the directory containing namd2.exe the following error is returned:
Error: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way:
Please contact the application's support team for more information" after specifying the namd2.exe path
It would seem that namd2 is not recognized as an executable file. I have double checked the directory specifications in my configuration files to make sure everything is directed to the proper directory.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how this error can be corrected? I noticed several other people received this same error though it was from a different context of input.
I appreciate any suggestions anyone is willing to offer.
