Parallel replicas?

We have a user on our system that's interested in running each replica
of a replica exchange run in parallel on every core in a node. Either
via some sort of local SMP or better yet, MPI so he can run multi-node
replicas. Is this possible? If so, is there some available
documentation for showing how to do this? Thanks,
