loading large dcd files

Dear Friends,
I have run a 10 ns (10 thousand frames) simulation in 5 steps of 2 ns each.
Now I want to merge the files.
The total volume of files is above 2GB.
I just first loaded the psf file and then the dcd file one after another.
but after loading about 7500 (7.5 ns) frames the vmd is crashing.
I am using VMD 1.8.6 on windows xp platform on a PC of 2 GB RAM.
is there any error in dcd file?
