Hi everybody

I'm working on an ion channel membrane system. I wish to apply the electric field to a specified location, is it possible to do that? I see that a recent article published at biophysics J by uiuc (Dynamics of K1 Ion Conduction through Kv1.2) seems has manage to do that. In their case the potential bias was emulated by applying a constant force to every charged atom and corresponds to a value of 1Vacross the lipid bilayer (with a length of 30 A¡ã). How could someone adding a constant force to every charged atoms at a specified location during the whole sumlation progress? What if the ion escaped the location, does it still being pulled? By what kind of NAMD configration can it be done?

  Thank you for any help.
