How to change psf file in the half way of VMD simulation?

Hi all. I am trying to save the state of a system in *.vmd file and then change the psf file and parameter file by running a new configuration file, still using the coordinates in the previous saved *.vmd file but not specifying any pdb file in the new configuration file.
     I wonder how can I do this.
     In one word, this is a simulation starting from only ONE pdb file, and changing the psf and parameter files during the whole simulation.
