BioCoRE is a project-oriented environment. You can create a project devoted to a specific topic, and invite others to join it. Anyone not invited to the project does not even know it exists. This way, files and messages can be kept private to only those project members.
Projects are private by default, so that only users who are invited by an administrator may join. However, the administrator may make areas of the project public, so that any BioCoRE member can view the data and participate in chats. This is useful for tutorial projects and online forums.
When Bob logs in to BioCoRE, he sees the tabs in the Control Panel, one per project. He browses through the projects to catch up on the messages he missed while he was logged out.
