This year we had a couple of 4th-of-July related events - a party in
Chicago with my Eva Gang friends on the 3rd, and a BBQ-and-fireworks event
at my parents' house. Rather than split the two sets of pictures up, I
decided to leave them combined.
The first event was great - I hadn't seen my friends up there for a
while, and they had some good stories to tell of some recent Chicago
trips. As for my family, I don't think I've seen such a diverse group of
people at my parents' house for years... Fun for all!
Also note, I took quite a nice batch of pictures of the fireworks that night...

Rachel This is actually from a couple of weeks before...
Rachel and Nick ...but Rachel couldn't make it to this party, so I figured I'd include it here.
Parallel Parking I successfully parallel-parked! Whoo-hoo! This is my proof... (And it's also my car, if you've never seen it before.)
Eva and Emilija Eva is proud to have members of her Gang reproduce.

Angie and Son I hadn't seen Angie since she had had her kid.
Alex Aww, isn't he cute?
Stefan He looks every bit the tired Dad.
Val and Matas Coming back from looking at an apartment being rented by a Nobel-prize winner. (They decided against it.)

Siri and Oren I don't remember his name, since I was just taking off as we were going. (Oren! Thanks, Toly!)
Interesting Window It was an LCD, I guess. An interesting piece of art.
Mallory And so begin the few shots I have of the next day's party. This is Mallory, one of my Dad's student workers.
Mallory's Friends Aaron, Mallory, and Beth, as I recall.

Annoyed Cat She didn't like that somebody had moved her box, and even after I gave it back, she glared for a while.
Sheba and Dana Dana has lots of cats of her own, so Sheba seemed content to have her around.
Sheba and Jack I don't think I had a good shot of Jack before this point...
Digging In There was plenty of food for the many people that showed up, at least.
Jack Hamming it up. Not that I'm griping.
Playing with the Cat She wasn't really sure what to think.
Hanging Out I haven't seen her on this particular perch much before, I wonder why she chose it that night?
