Once again, the leadership of the Dancing Illini has changed hands.
Through the miracle of democracy, this awesome transfer of power has
occured without bloodshed. All hail President Regina!
The minutes of the May general meeting and elections are below. Note that
we are still in need of teaching and competition chairs so please contact
us (dancing-officers@uiuc.edu) if you are interested in being an officer.

General Meeting, Wednesday, May 6, 1998, 10pm
1.It was reported that due to a regulation of which the club officers
were recently informed the DI is not allowed to charge for
classes held at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
According to negotiations with Krannert staff, we may restrict
classes to DI members and registered participants and raise
dues/fees to cover these costs.
2.After much debate, the assembled members voted that
amendments to the following effect be made to the By-Laws of
the Dancing Illini:
1.Summer membership dues shall be raised to $25.
2.Summer registered participant fees shall be raised to
$30.
3.Summer classes shall be free to members and registered
participants.
4.Summer practices shall be open to
non-members/registered participants.
5.Membership dues and registered participant fees shall
be waived for officers and instructors.
3.General elections were held, with the following results:

5.Education Chairs: Tanja Hodges and Jon Deguzman
