Dear Dancers,
Great first Waltz on Sunday! We have a couple events lined up for you to
showoff your newly acquired skills. These can also be found under the
Calendar tab on our website: http://publish.illinois.edu/dancing/calendar/
*Practice - Thursday*
Practice will continue on Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm at the LDS Institute.
We will be reviewing Cha Cha and Waltz, if those two dances are going well,
me might also play a little Nightclub Two Step and Salsa. We will be
dropping Cha Cha for a new dance on Sunday. If you have any questions about
anything we covered so far or have missed any classes, Practice is the best
place to make it up.
*Student Night at the Regent - Friday*
The Regent Ballroom in Savoy is having a student night this Friday from
8:00-11:00, admission is only $5 with a student ID. We will have the table
next to the DJ reserved for the club. This is a great opportunity see what
social dancing is and to test out your new dances with a chance to dance
with more experienced dancers. We'll have sweets of some sorts prepared as
well. If you need a ride, email dancing@illinois.edu and we'll set one up
for you.

*Class - Sunday*
Music will be playing starting from around 5:15, come warm up for class or
get some last minute questions answered.
*Dancing Illini Annual Competition - 10/19*
The annual Dancing Illini competition is coming up in two weeks at the
Illini Union. We highly encourage you to participate and compete. You will
be competing against beginners who have just as much dance experience as
you. It's a lot of fun and a chance to meet other dancers from the Midwest
and it's completely FREE for UIUC students. There will also be a demo from
professional dances later in the day. If you're concerned about dancing in
front of people but would like to watch, no pressure, we are also looking
for volunteers to help out the day of. (Yes, you can still hang out and
watch without volunteering.) If you're interested in volunteering, let me
know.
Details of the competition can be found here:

Hope to see you all out dancing this week! Feel free to email me with any
questions.
