Dear Dancers and Future Dancers,
Come and enjoy the show at our annual competition and workshops this
weekend (October 20-21) in the Illini Union (Illini Rooms ABC). All
events are free for UIUC students (funded by SORF). Full details at

The competition is all day Saturday starting at 9am with standard/smooth
dances, continuing with Latin/rhythm in the afternoon, and finishing
in the evening with nightclub and a professional Latin demonstration.
Workshops on Sunday are Intro to West Coast Swing or Intermediate
Cha-Cha at 10am and Intro to Samba or Intermediate Hustle at 11:15.
All Sunday workshops are free for UIUC students (funded by SORF).
Regular dance courses continue on Sunday and you can still join.
Courses:
Beginner Foxtrot & Quickstep
Sundays, 5:00-6:15pm, 5 weeks, Oct 14-Nov 11 at University YMCA
taught by Illini Dancesport, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Beginner Rumba & Samba
Sundays, 6:30-7:45pm, 5 weeks, Oct 14-Nov 11 at University YMCA
taught by Illini Dancesport, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Continuing Cuban Salsa (Rueda)
Sundays, 8:00-9:30pm, 5 weeks, Oct 14-Nov 11 at University YMCA
taught by Tanja & Ron, beginner Cuban Salsa required
Courses meet at the University YMCA's Latzer Hall (first floor),
at Wright and Chalmers in Champaign, just west of Lincoln Hall.
Repeat students are welcome in all courses.
Pricing:
Your $35 membership (or $40 registration if non-UIUC) entitles you to
one 5-week course. Additional courses in the same semester are $25.
Prices are per person; there is no couples discount. Please be
prepared to pay by the start of the second class (October 21).

Where We Dance:
The Regent Ballroom has dancing most Fridays, 8-11pm, $9. The music
covers everything we teach and more, so join your DI friends at the

Want to improve faster and maybe even compete? If you have prior
dance experience (or are currently enrolled in a Dancing Illini
beginner class), you might consider joining Illini Dancesport, the
University of Illinois' competitive ballroom team.
