Dear Dancers and Future Dancers,
The Dancing Illini is kicking off the year with three beginner courses:
Tango & Waltz, Cha-Cha & Swing, and Cuban Salsa (Rueda).
You don't need a partner and beginner courses are FREE tonight only
(Sunday, Sept 9) so come to the University YMCA and give it a try!
Courses:
Beginner Tango & Waltz
Sundays, 5:00-6:15pm, 5 weeks, Sept 9-Oct 7 at University YMCA
taught by Illini DanceSport, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Beginner Cha-Cha & Swing
Sundays, 6:30-7:45pm, 5 weeks, Sept 9-Oct 7 at University YMCA
taught by Illini DanceSport, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Beginner Cuban Salsa (Rueda)
Sundays, 8:00-9:30pm, 5 weeks, Sept 9-Oct 7 at University YMCA
taught by Tanja & Ron/Jim, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Courses meet at the University YMCA's Latzer Hall (first floor),
at Wright and Chalmers in Champaign, just west of Lincoln Hall.
Repeat students are welcome in all courses.
Pricing:
There is no need to pre-register. Try classes FREE the first week.
Your $35 membership (or $40 registration if non-UIUC) entitles you to
one 5-week course. Additional courses in the same semester are $25.
Prices are per person; there is no couples discount. Please be
prepared to pay by the start of the second class (September 16).
EARLY-BIRD SPECIAL: Save $5 on membership if you pay the first week!

Where We Dance:
The Regent Ballroom has dancing most Fridays, 8-11pm, $9. The music
covers everything we teach and more, so join your DI friends at the

Illini Dancesport Team:
Want to improve faster and maybe even compete? If you have prior
dance experience (or are currently enrolled in a Dancing Illini
beginner class), you might consider joining Illini Dancesport, the
University of Illinois' competitive ballroom team.

Annual Competition and Workshops October 20-21:
Our 24th annual intercollegiate ballroom dance competition will be
held on Saturday, October 20 with workshops on Sunday, October 21.
Free for UIUC students (thanks to SORF support) as spectators or
competitors (we have special events just for beginning dancers).
