23rd Annual Dancing Illini DanceSport Invitational
An Intercollegiate Dance Competition
Saturday, October 22, 2011, 8am-11pm
with workshops Sunday, 10am-12:15pm

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Our fun and beginner-friendly competition returns this year with a
new International-style Open Category designed for gold-level dancers,
new Viennese Waltz, Argentine/Club Tango, and Lindy Hop events in the
Advanced category, and the usual Beginner events for novice dancers.
DanceSport costumes may be worn in Open Category and Viennese Waltz,
but are otherwise prohibited to promote affordable ballroom dancing.
Please read the dress code and Open Category rules carefully.
Andrew and Michelle Tate will judge during the day Saturday, perform
during the evening competition, and teach two Standard workshops on
Sunday. Ryan Evans will return to judge Saturday and teach two Latin
workshops on Sunday. The Sunday workshops are free for competitors.
Cost: $40 for student competitors, $50 for non-student competitors,
$5 general spectators, free for UIUC student competitors and spectators
(UIUC student participation is funded by SORF)

Good News on Hotels:
For the second time in as many years there is NOT a home football game
the weekend of the competition, so hotel rooms should be plentiful!
