Dear Dancers and Future Dancers,
Dancing Illini courses continue with Beginner Waltz & Nightclub 2-step,
Level 2 West Coast Swing & Hustle, and, for those with dance experience,
Accelerated Tango & Viennese Waltz and Accelerated Cha-Cha & Jive.
Repeat students are welcome in all classes.
Please note our location in the University YMCA 2nd Floor Wahl Room.
You don't need a partner, but due to the reduced room size this year
we are asking students to pay at the beginning of class the first week.
That means smaller classes and more personal attention for you.
Courses:
Level 2 West Coast Swing & Hustle
Tuesdays, 6:15-7:30pm, 6 weeks starting March 16 at University YMCA
taught by Shaun & Silke, Beginner West Coast Swing & Hustle required
Beginner Waltz & Nightclub 2-step
Tuesdays, 8:00-9:15pm, 6 weeks starting March 16 at University YMCA
taught by Jim & May/Colleen, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Accelerated Tango & Viennese Waltz
Thursdays, 6:15-7:30pm, 6 weeks starting March 18 at University YMCA
taught by Kyong & Wei, partnered dance experience recommended
Accelerated Cha-Cha & Jive
Thursdays, 8:00-9:15pm, 6 weeks starting March 18 at University YMCA
taught by Illini Dancesport, partnered dance experience recommended
All courses meet at the University YMCA (1001 S. Wright St.) in
the Wahl room on the 2nd floor, left at the top of the stairs.
Pricing:
There is no need to pre-register. Your $30 membership (or $35
registration if non-UIUC) entitles you to one 6-week course.
Additional courses in the same semester are $20. Prices are per person;
there is no couples discount. The first week is not free this year.
Please be prepared to pay at the start of the first class.
EARLY-BIRD SPECIAL: Save $5 on membership if you pay the first week!
Want to get all your Dancing Illini classes for free? Volunteer some
of your time and enthusiasm as an officer! If you are interested
please email dancing at illinois dot edu. Elections are held in April.
Where We Dance:
The Regent Ballroom has dancing most Fridays, 8-11pm, $8. The music
starts out strictly ballroom and shifts to nightclub (e.g., hustle and
west coast swing) as the night goes on, so join your DI friends at the
