Dear Dancers and Future Dancers,
The Dancing Illini is continuing the semester with Beginner Swing & Rumba,
a second course in Hustle & West Coast Swing, and, for those with dance
experience, Accelerated Cha-Cha & Samba and Accelerated Tango & Viennese
Waltz. Repeat students are welcome in all classes.
You don't need a partner, but due to the reduced room size this year
we are asking students to pay at the beginning of class the first week.
Courses:
Level 2 West Coast Swing & Hustle
Wednesdays, 6:15-7:30pm, 6 weeks starting Oct 14 at McKinley Foundation
taught by Shaun & Silke, Beginner West Coast Swing & Hustle required
Accelerated Cha-Cha & Samba
Wednesdays, 8:00-9:15pm, 6 weeks starting Oct 14 at ***ARC MP1***
taught by Illini Dancesport, partnered dance experience recommended
Beginner Swing & Rumba
Thursdays, 6:15-7:30pm, 6 weeks starting Oct 15 at McKinley Foundation
taught by Ron & May, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Accelerated Tango & Viennese Waltz
Thursdays, 8:00-9:15pm, 6 weeks starting Oct 15 at ***CRCE MP2***
taught by Illini Dancesport, partnered dance experience recommended
Accelerated courses meet at ARC or CRCE (see above). The rest meet
in McKinley Foundation (***not church***) basement (5th & Daniel).
Pricing:
There is no need to pre-register. Your $30 membership (or $35
registration if non-UIUC) entitles you to one 6-week course.
Additional courses in the same semester are $20. Prices are per person;
there is no couples discount. The first week is not free this year.
Please be prepared to pay at the start of the first class.

of your time and enthusiasm as an officer! If you are interested

Where We Dance:
The Regent Ballroom has dancing most Fridays, 8-11pm, $8. The music
starts out strictly ballroom and shifts to nightclub (e.g., hustle and
west coast swing) as the night goes on, so join your DI friends at the

21st Annual Dance Competition is October 31, Workshops November 1:
UIUC students compete or spectate FREE at our annual ballroom and
nightclub DanceSport competition with special events for beginners.
All competitors should register by October 19 to avoid late fees.
