Workshop Schedule:
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Introduction to Cuban Salsa (Rueda)
If you are new to Rueda, or you had a class a while back, this workshop should be great for you. We will start at ground zero, and cover the basics in no time. No partners, fancy clothes, or previous experience necessary. This workshop will prepare you to participate in Cuban Salsa 102 (see below).
2:10 pm - 3:10 pm: Cuban Salsa 102 (Rueda)
Some minimal previous Cuban Salsa experience is highly recommended for participation in this workshop. Chris plans to keep us moving! with some hot Cuban choreography. No partners, fancy clothes, or special shoes are necessary.
3:20 pm - 4:30 pm: Advanced Cuban Salsa (Rueda)
Here we will present a very challenging group of Rueda sequences. T! his workshop is intended for experienced Rueda dancers. (Participation in the Intro and 102 workshops are NOT sufficient preparation.) No partners or fancy clothes necessary. Dance shoes recommended.
Prerequisite: 3 months of regular Rueda dancing.

West Coast Swing Workshop: 8:30 - 9:30 pm
Practice: 9:30 - 10:30
Dance!: Club Lava, 11:00 pm - 2:00 am (Bris will play Salsa & 110-120 BPM music for WCS & Hustle)
Instructor: Chris Martin - a highly experienced dance teacher. Chris began teaching ballroom dancing in 1987 and has worked for both major chain studios, two highly acclaimed and respected studios in London, and was coach and instructor of the University of Maryland's ballroom dance program for two years. He has a background in musical theater, with a degree from Catholic University, and is a member of Actors Equity. Chris will review the basics and teach a new exciting pattern for each dance.
Cost: Hustle: $10 for general public or $7 for Dancing Illini Members
West Coast Swing: $5 for general pub! lic or $3 for Dancing Illini Members.
