    Dancing Illini General Meeting
    Tuesday, November 19, 2002
    310 Freer

    Meeting began at 8:10 pm.

Officers Present: Jeremy Williams, Jennifer Schultz, Tanja Hodges, Amy
Creekmore, Emily Kass, Lynn Milewski, Peter Chen, Mike Lockwood

*Don't have a current budget to approve; Lynn will talk to Rich about this.

*We are not holding a Dinner Dance this semester

*Amy was checking with Mary Sue about the dessert party.
*This is now confirmed, and will be THIS FRIDAY, Dec. 6th at Mary Sue's.

*So far, we have allocated $400 for New Year's Eve and $450 for Purdue Comp.
We also spent $300 for the Iowa State comp and $500 for the OSB. We should be
getting money back for the last two comps, but not for Purdue.

*Lisa Hoppe has the music for the Dec. 14 dance, Amy will get this from her.

*Lynn will check our RSO mailbox to see if we've received any important mail
    this semester.

*Amy has dates for spring dances in the Union. We will not hold dances more
than 2x a month, so any extra dates will be cancelled. She will begin
planning these dances and see what extra dates we have.
*The dates we have currently reserved are:
    1/25/03 room 314
            2/1/03 room 314*
            2/15/03 room 314
            2/22/03 room 314*
            3/15/03 room 314
            4/12/03 room 314
            4/19/03 room 314*
            4/26/03 ballroom

*Amy is currently planing a salsa/night club 2-step dance with Yuri on
    1/25/03, a Valentine's dance on 2/15/03, and on 4/26 a big bash, no lesson,
all dances included. Date which have stars are ones she isn't planning on
using at the moment; if someone would like them for another purpose they need
to contact her or they will be cancelled.

*Tanja suggested having a competition prep class in lieu of a Rueda class in
the spring. This would be either on Monday or Wednesday nights, would require
a partner, and would teach a routine that could be used for competitions.
First dances would probably be Quickstep and Rumba. We would need to find a
teacher. Loretta might be a good choice, but is not available for this late
    slot.

    Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.

    Submitted by Jen Schultz, Secretary.
