The Dancing Illini present the following upcoming events:
Viennese Waltz Workshop -- July 15th --TONIGHT!!!!
In our first workshop of the summer, Bruce Leasure will again teach the
principles of the Viennese Waltz! It will take place on Monday July 15th from
9:15-10:30 pm at the Regent Ballroom in Savoy. This is a great opportunity to
learn a dance that is not taught very often. Also, this time we will use the
entire Regent dance floor instead of half. Experience with standard dances
(preferably waltz) is required. (At a minimum, one should have experience with
the dance position used for Waltz, Foxtrot or Quickstep and ideally should
have experience with at least one of these dances.) This event is FREE for
Dancing Illini members and registered participants (anyone currently taking a
class). Others may attend for $10. No pre-registration is required. If you

Dancing Illini Water Slide & Pizza Party -- July 21
WHEN? : Sunday, July 21; 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
WHERE? : Sholem Pool inside Centennial Park; 2200 Sangamon Dr., Champaign.
WHAT TO BRING? : Bathing suit, towel, and $5.00 to pay for your own admission
to the slide and pool. We have a special discounted rate for unlimited number
of slides (regular price is $10.00 for unlimited use).
FREE PIZZA! : The Dancing Illini Club is picking up the tab for the pizza &
pop. If you are at the water slide by 5:00 p.m. we will order enough pizzas
for all Dancing Illini that arrive by that time. (We'll eat by 5:30 p.m.)
WHY? : An opportunity to have fun, kick back, & cool off at the water slide &
pool. Even if you can't swim, it's OK. The water slide ends in chest-deep
water. Bring a friend. We hope to see you there!
Dancing Illini General Meeting, July 25th, 2002
A general meeting will be held for the Dancing Illini in the Opera Room of the
Krannert Center at 8:15 pm on Thursday, July 25th.
Dancing Illini Monday Practice Dances at the Regent
Practice dances will be held at the Regent ballroom the following Mondays from
9:15 to 10:45 pm. This is FREE to all dance enthusiasts. Come out to practice
your dance steps and learn new ones!

Dancing Illini Dinner Dance—August 2nd
The Dancing Illini is sponsoring a Dinner Dance on Friday, August 2nd,
starting at 5:45 pm. Come join us for dinner followed by an evening of dance
at the Regent Ballroom. If you come to dinner, you will receive a $5 off
coupon for the Regent. Other details about this event will be announced later.
