Dear Dancing Illini,

(Giant Booming voice): SUNDAY, SUNDAY SUNDAY!!! ONE DAY ONLY!!!

Yes, that's right. This Sunday, Sepetember 30th, the Dancing Illini
will be holding our first workshop of the year at the Phillips Rec.
Center in Urbana, from 3-5pm.
The workshop will be taught by Andrew Tate, and the topic is Latin
Technique. Andrew and his partner Michelle have competed nationally,
and have done quite well! (They're good!)
This workshop will supplement our current intermediate class on the same
topic, but you don't have to be in the class to benefit from the
workshop. However, some experience with the Latin dances is strongly
recommended.

After the workshop we'll be going out to dinner at Peking Garden (sorry
- no DI funding for food this time) to hang out and find out what
Andrew's been up to lately.

There is no cost to current Dancing Illini members (those who are
currently taking classes or those who have paid this semester's
membership dues), and non-members may become members by paying $10
(affiliated with the U of I - students, faculty, staff), or $15
(non-UIUC).

The Phillips Center is located at 505 W. Stoughton in Urbana, which is
on the northwest corner of Springfield and McCullough or the southwest
corner of Stoughton and McCullough.

If you're coming from Champaign, or Urbana west of Lincoln:
Proceed east on Springfield Avenue past Lincoln Avenue. After two
more blocks,
turn left on Coler Ave, and an immediately turn right on W. Stoughton
St. The parking lot is just ahead on the right.

If you're coming from Urbana on Springfield Avenue:
Proceed west through downtown Urbana on Springfield, straight
through the Y-intersection where Main Street splits off. Turn right on
McCullough St. and then left on W. Stoughton St. The parking lot is
ahead on the left.

Parking is also available on Stoughton St.

If you have questions, please send me email at melockwo@uiuc.edu.
Hope to see you there.

Mike Lockwood
Workshop Chair
