Extra Dance Practices!

Dear Dancing Illlini:

Many of you have expressed a desire for extra dance practices. I have a
solution for those interested - the formation of a DI competition team.

No, don't get scared! As those of you who competed at our recent comp
know, competitions are fun. Preparing for them is also also a great way to
improve your dancing.

Here is what I will try to provide for the group: extra dance practices
(not just dances, but organized sessions where we will work on specific
aspects of dance); pre-comp preparation sessions; finding dancers
regular competition partners (which is helpful for improving);
attending as many competitions as possible; and other
dance/competition-related activities. If anyone has any other suggestions,
I'd like to hear them.

Before I go through the work of obtaining space for us, I want to make
sure there is enough interest to make this happen. E-mail me if you are
interested in being a part of this.

NOTE: Being a part of the comp team means that you must be dedicated to
practicing. I want us to brush up on basic moves, then move onto more
advanced steps and sequences. Perhaps when we have progressed a bit, we
can even see about getting cool things like team jackets or t-shirts.

Respond soon, so I can get space! Maybe, we can all have a brief meeting
to discuss what everyone wants.

Sincerely,

Caitlin Weigel

Dancing Illini Vice President
