Hi all,

This is just to let everyone know about the two things happening at CRU
in the month of April for swing.

The Virtues will be playing at CRU on the 17th of April. For those who
don't remember, they opened for the Atomic Fireballs, and they are
AWESOME. Unfortunately, there is limited space, so a limited number of
"tickets" can be sold. Cost is $5 at the door. Lesson at 8:15, and the
Virtues will start at around 9:15.
If you haven't heard them, this is your chance.

And the event you've all been waiting for, the Chicago-Style Lindy
Workshop is now set. Please read the entire e-mail, because it is all
very important. The date will be the 24th of April at the CRU building
on 6th and Green. The first session will be be 10 until 1, and the
second session will be 1:30 until 4:30. The cost is $20 for the day.

This next part is very important. This is NOT a basic Lindy workshop. It
is absolutley REQUIRED that you have completed at least basic Lindy Hop
class, and preference could be given to those who have had intermediate
instruction. IT is assumed that if you do the workshop, you already know
swing-out, circle, tandem charleston, all three tuck turns, and some
swing-out variations. Please do not sign up if you have not had any
Lindy instruction. If are you enrolled in this month's Lindy classes,
you may do the workshop only if you show up for every class and practice
outside, but we reserve the right to pull you out of the rotation if you
are holding others back.

The instructors are Young-Jin Kim and Margot McGraw of the Chicago Swing
Dance Society and the Swing Half-breeds. The workshop will focus on
styling and movement variations of the swing out in smooth Lindy style.
In addition to the main instructors, there will be a few helping
instructors in the crowd to help answer questions.

To register:

1. Make checks out to Brooke Batiste for $20 and enclose in an envelope
with a paper stating name, e-mail and lead or follow part.

2. Send the check to:

Andy Weaver
309 E. John
Champaign, IL 61820

You can mail it or drop it by in a sealed envelope. Dropping it off
will get it ther faster and reserve your spot quicker. It must be
mailed by the 19th of April.
Please do not send checks to Brooke. Your check registers you. An
e-mail asking to reserve a spot
does not.

We can only accept a limited number of participants. The number is
limited to 60, so please sign up early to reserve your spot.
