Hey Kids,
For those of you new to the Swing Society: welcome! I've made
major revisions to the e-mail list this week; we're now over 1,300
members. If anyone still gets my e-mails twice, please reply with "I'm
on the e-mail list twice" and I'll take care of it. Note that there
have been some changes to the weekly Swing events in C-U, and they're
listed below. If you or a member of your organization is planning a
swing dance, please feel free to notify us, in order to rule out
conflicting events, and for advertising purposes. Below are the swing
events for spring break, regular weekly swing events, and special
events.
Swing events for Spring Break:

TODAY, Saturday (March 13)
White Street Arts Center Swing Dance
9:30pm to 11:30pm. Location: 304 1/2 E. White St. (between 3rd & 4th)
Cost: $1 All ages, no smoking/drinking, dress nice.
Speakeasy, City of New Orleans
Marianne's Swing Night (Charleston, Ill)
Dancing: 9pm to 1am, all ages
Sunday 3/14: the Office swing night is cancelled Spring Break
Tuesday 3/16: Legends swing night is cancelled Spring Break
Friday: 3/19: the Virtues, at the City of New Orleans
Saturday: 3/20: *Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Boys, the Canopy ($10) 18 &
over
White Street Arts Center Swing Dance cancelled
Spring Break
Sunday: 3/21: the Office swing nite (maybe)

Regular Swing events every week (not including Spring Break, of course)
Monday: None (Mabels is cancelled)
Tuesday: Legends (lessons at 9, dancing 10 to 1)

Saturday: White St Arts Center Swing Dance, and

Sunday: the Office (Urbana) lessons at 9, dancing 10 to 1

SWANK WEEK! Dress vintage to class all week. Randomly ask people to
dance during class.
Lunchtime Swing Dance on Wedesday, March 24, noon to 1pm, on the Quad in
front of Illini Union.
