We all saw what the English did to swing and tango, I wonder what they
will do this time :)

Subject: The Official UKA Salsa book - at last!

OK - strictly speaking this is a teeny bit commercial, but:

The UKA (United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dancing
- probably the largest dance teaching association in the UK) is, this
week, launching an initiative to promote Salsa & Merengue not only
for social dancing but also as a formal, examinable dance style.
There is to be a syllabus and a teaching dipoma - further details
from the UKA (tel: +44-(0)1253-408828).

Our part in all this has been to publish a superb new book:

SALSA & MERENGUE: THE ESSENTIAL STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

It's by Paul Harris (former Latin American champion) and it costs
ukp6.95. Full details are on our web site.

As a Salsa dancer myself, I've enjoyed publishing this excellent
book. It contains the first professional notation of Salsa and we've
had glowing endorsements from Elder Sanchez, Nelson Batista and many
more big names in the world of dance - including Isabelle Foukine,
Choreographer for the Kirov Ballet!

Excellent to combine business with pleasure - if anybody wants
further info about the book (or wants me to pass on any requests etc
to the UKA) do get in touch.
