For those of you who might be able to go to Chicago the next few weekends,
here is a listing
of some Argentine Tango concerts and dances.

Tango Rendezvous, a concert with two tango orchestras (Tango Classico and
Real Tango), vocalists and dancers, will be performed Friday, Oct 2 at 7:30
pm. Tango Classico features William CERNOTA, Cellist (Lyric Opera
Orchestra). Real Tango features Raul Jaurena, bandoneonist (New York Tango
Trio). The concert will include traditional and contemporary tangos to
include compositions by Astor PIAZZOLLA, Matthew HEATON and a world
premiere by Gustavo LEONE.

Raul Juarena, bandoneonist of the New York Tango Trio, will play for the
milonga on
Saturday, October 3 at 10:00 p.m. at Tango...nada mas, 6137 North Northwest
Highway, Chicago. Doors open at 8:30, beginning with a free introductory
tango class.
Admission is $15. Marga Mitchell, a tango singer from New York, will

The Chicago Tango Club's "First Sundays" Argentine Tango dance will happen
Sunday 4 Oct. Admission: $6. Free class at 7. Chicago Dance Ballroom, 3660

Milonga Boulevard, a tango show produced by Mariachiara Michieli and Marco
Castellani,
will be presented at the Arts Center of College of DuPage, 22nd and Park
Blvd.,
Glen Ellyn (a western suburb of Chicago) on Sunday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m.
and on Saturday, October 12 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $26/$25. Dancers
include Leandro Palou and Andrea Misse; Sebastian Misse and Andrea Reyero;
Sabrina Morales and Lucas Galera; Sabrina and Ruben Veliz; and Rodolfo and
Maria Cieri. The musicians are the soloists from Osvaldo Pugliese's

The tango opera MARIA DE BUENOS AIRES by Astor Piazzolla with libretto by
Horacio Ferrer will be presented on Monday, October 12 at 8:00 p.m. at
Symphony Center, 220 South Michigan Avenue, in downtown Chicago. There will
be a post-concert party with tango lessons and dancing. Call 800-223-7114 to

A tango tea will be hosted by the Chicago Tango Club at the Drake Hotel,
