Saturday September 12 the UIUC Swing Society will be at Mabel's.
Lessons start at 9:00 pm and DJ'd swing starts at 10:00 pm. Cover will
most likely be $3.
Lastly, I would like to make an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT concerning the
organization of the UIUC Swing Society. Currently, it is a very
loose-knit organization held together by a few of you out there as well
as myself, and this email list. Many of you have emailed me with (good)
suggestions of things you'd like to see done this year and I have not
had the time to follow through with many of them. I anticipate this
next year to be a very busy one for me so it's unlikely to improve. If
anyone would like to step forward and play an important role in
organizing the swing scene in CU, please let me know. I would be
willing to step aside as "president" of this group (although I was never
really elected in the first place) for someone else with a little more
time and initiative than myself. There are over 500 people on this
email list currently, and I expect the group to grow much more this next
semester. Clearly, there will be a need for organization and
leadership.
