Dear Dancers,
THE DANCING ILLINI is proud to offer yet another incredible opportunity
to improve your dancing! Join professional dancer instructor Paul Jones,
as he teaches a fun-filled day of Hustle!
The workshop is from 12:30 Noon - 5:00 PM at University of Illinois,
Illini Union Room 314, 1401 W. Green St., Urbana. Cost is $10 for one
class and $15 for both classes.
The classes will be Novice Hustle (1:00 - 2:30 pm) and advanced (3:00 -
4:30 pm). The novice class is an introduction to Hustle with moves
designed to familiarise students with basic technique, learning rhythms,
poise, arm styling, leading and following. The advanced class requires
adequate hustle experience; it's designed to achieve the look that the
advanced dancers create, with the accent on technique, poise, styling,
and turning. We recommend that students also take the Novice class to
refresh and refine their basic technique.
To encourage you to attend the workshop, we host a complimentary Social
Dance with a mix of music for Ballroom, Latin & Nightclub (e.g. West
Coast Swing, Hustle, Nightclub 2-step) at no cost to you! That's right,
it is FREE!!!.
The complimentary Social Dance will be held at Krannert Center For the
Performing Arts, 500 S Goodwin, Urbana, Opera Rehearsal Room (2nd Floor)
from 7:30 - 11:00 pm. Dress is semi-formal.
There will be demonstrations during the social dance, performed by the
Dancing Illini. This is a dress rehearsal as they are getting ready for
the 1998 USABDA National Dance Sport Championships [Aug 14-16]. The
demonstration will be scheduled some time between 9:00pm-9:30pm.
