For those of you who can already dance the basics of WCS and Hustle and
want to improve, I strongly recommend the "Barry Jones thing" this weekend.

Greg is referring to the 2nd Annual National Rising Star Swing Dance
Championships being held this weekend, September 19-21 at the Arlington
Park Hilton in Arlington Heights, IL (near Chicago). It is the event of
the year for newcomer and intermediate dancers, featuring hours and hours
of competitions, Jack and Jills, workshops with champion instructors from
around the USA, and evening social dances that will last into the early
morning! $12,000 in prize money will be given away!

Although the hotel is sold out, unreserved tickets for the event are still
available for only $55.00 for the entire weekend.

Workshops begin on Friday afternoon with Manny Villarial teaching at 4:00;
On Saturday, workshops, starting at 10:00 a.m. will be given by none
other than Barry Durand, Ramiro Gonzalez and the incomparable Mary Ann Nunez.
On Sunday the workshops, starting at 9:15 a.m. will be given by Jeannie
Tucker, Beata Howe and Mari and Michael Kiehm.

Novice and newcomer competitions throughout the weekend including Masters
division.

Barry Jones expects this to be his most successful enterprise to date so
plan on attending especially if you live in the Chicogo area and love to
swing dance.
