I don't know about everyone else, but I'm getting tired of the amount of
bickering and the number of personal jabs that are occurring in this debate.
Each message since the first response to Jay's email has held a varying
number of veiled insults, and the veils are getting thinner. All of these
barbs are out of line, cast the club in a bad light, and are irrelevant to
the issue at hand.

I have to wonder how much of this discussion stems from concern for what is
best for the club, and how much stems from personal dislikes between various
members. If this is all out of honest concern for the club, then might I
remind you that beginners are encouraged to sign up for this list? This
bickering gives them a pretty bad image of what the "serious members" are
like.

SO, how about those of you concerned for the club do the following:
(1) make any further posts "just the facts"

(2) since it is almost impossible to obey rule (1), limit any opinions of
the proposal or someone else's views of the proposal to agreement (with
support) or disagreement (with support based on facts, not your opinion of
the personality flaws of the other members' views)

(3) anyone who is truly interested and truly concerned, contact Jay about a
copy of the full proposal (sorry Jay, but you said you had this anyway)

(4) if you have strong enough feelings to resort to name calling, save it
for the thursday meeting.

If, on the other hand, you want to take jabs at people in a public forum,
avenge insults (real or imagined), humiliate those you personally dislike,
or are merely concerned with demonstrating that you're always right and
everyone else is always wrong... please do it elsewhere.

Mike
