Hello there everyone,
I have not been on this list for so long, I had forgotten about the
forum...:)

Well, to address the issue of talking to the "odd couple" that competed at
the beginner level when they were clearly not beginners... I would say
that is the right way of doing it really. I am sure two mature people
will see that they were out of place, and may be even return their ribbons
or donate them to those more deserving of the level..

Along the same lines, I recall two years ago that one of our club officers
(from last year) violated a clear rule in the Jack 'n Jill competition by
dancing and eventually winning with a partner with whom this person had
considerable prior experience dancing. Perhaps the same person that
is chosen to talk to the couple above will also talk to the offending
person above, strip the person of the award, which in this case was
dessert (pizza,I think). :) In fact, I call for a motion for this to be
done immediately, before any further digestion of the afore-mentioned
award occurs... :)

A little more seriously though, I do not believe that it is worth the
effort to add more rules and regulations to this event which is purely
meant for fun. I suspect that few are as unconscionable as to skip a
category for the express reason that they may win a few ribbons, which,
lets face it, is really meaningless in the larger perspective of life.

The interpretation of the rules will be highly subjective and probably
unfair in isolated instances... Remember, innocent until proven guilty..

But lets all get together and have a party thursday night anyway, what
says?

Au revoir.
Sriram.
