On Friday the 28th of Feb:

The Latino Programming Committee of the Illini Union Board is proudly
sponsoring the U of I Latino Formal and Awards banquet. Tickets are
available at the union Rm 284 for $25 per person (no couple discount) Too
expensive you think? Wait! It's worth it!!
There will be:
*Cocktails from 6-7pm
*Catered Dinner from 7-9pm
*Mariachi band to entertain during dinner.
*Awards given out to outstanding Latino Leaders and Organizations
*Live Rumba,Cha-cha, and Salsa performance put on by the Dancing Illini
from 9:9:15pm
*Dancing is from 9-12pm
*Salsa DJ Music spinning all night with chambana's very own **DJ Sabor**
*and to top all that off..... Silvio Sosa y su Orquesta Kokoloco
(a chicago Merengue/bachata band that is very popular and very good,
I've seen them perform.......they are excelent
performers!!!........VERY
LIVE!!!)
*the theme is "Un Solo Pueblo"
*It will be held in the Illini Union rooms ABC and South Lobby
*It is not just for Latino students of U of I but for anyone who would
like to attend.
*You get your money's worth.
*No date required..many people are going stag/solo.
That same night friday 28th:(instead of or after the formal)

At Land of mexico will be a Mariachi band "Los Caracoles" playing
their mariachi music from 10:30-1am (at 2nd and Green street) Go and enjoy
the live entertainment.
Saturday March 1st:

Latino Greek Coalition is proud to sponsor "Salsa/Merengue/Cumbia
and rock en espanol" night at Land of Mexico (2nd and Green street). The
music will be provided by Lindo's talented DJ...***DJ Joker*** and the
cover will be $3- Dancing starts at 10:30 and goes to 1:00am. Get there
before it gets too crowded because we're expecting lots of people who came
in for Latino Formal to show up. Limited capacity.
Afterwards, there will be an afterset also hosted by the LGC. The
address will only be announced at Land Of Mexico Saturday night.
Sunday March 2nd:

As per the usual, salsa/merengue music at the Blind Pig with ***DJ SABOR***
Dance the night away with the salsa community of chambana(champaign/urbana)
