What a fine day this last Saturday turned out to be. I got to
dance all day, and forget that I was a graduate student on the
verge of completion with days of tension and worry just around
the corner, for about 24 hours.
For this I have many people to thank. Let me start at the outset
by thanking all those wonderful ladies that deigned to dance at
the competition with me. Special thanks goes to Jeff Buoy, who
by not showing on time, gave me an additional chance to compete
in one more dance than I had originally planned :-) To the
ladies, I had a lot of fun competing but I had the most fun dancing
with you. Thanks once again and I hope you will dance with me
again in spite of my many screw-ups saturday....
I should thank as well Jay and Joyce for a program run so smoothly,
thanks to some of the best volunteer work I know there were far
too many enthusiastic volunteers and I may miss some if I start
to name them. But thank you all as well for a nice day of fun.
I also wish to add here that the sound system that has been much
maligned for the fashion in which it was bought, was outstanding
in its sound quality. For this, some of us owe Mark an apology
as well as thanks for a job well done. On this and other fronts
he has stepped up well for us and I express my thanks.
To abstain from a cliche', I also greatly enjoyed competing against
and losing to some of the best competition in the collegiate
amateur circle. I was delighted at the level of competition
and I bear no regrets for having fallen a little short of my
expectations. Thanks once again. I hope not to be here the next
year for your competition but I am sure I will have great and
pleasant memories when I look back fondly and reminisce about my
        days at Grad. School....
Thank you all, I hope you will have a very nice day.
        Sriram.
