IMHO (In My Humble Opinion), this would be a great thing to go do right
after Amy's beginner class! I plan to go watch it; I invite anybody and
everybody to come join me!

Subject: Total Lunar Eclipse - Sept 26
Date: Wed, 18 Sep 1996 22:51:43 -0600
Welcome stargazers! (and moon gazers)
The U of I Astronomical Society will host an observatory open house
at dusk (about 7:30 pm or so) on the night of Thursday September 26 to
watch a total eclipse of the Moon. The eclipse runs from just after 7pm
to about 1:30 am. This is the last total lunar eclipse visible in North
America until 2000, so you won't want to miss it! For more info on
eclipses including this one, see:
                http://www.skypub.com/eclipses/eclipses.html
In addition, telescopes will be available for viewing Saturn, Jupiter and
other celestial wonders and wanderers. The observatory is located on the
south side of the quad next to the undergrad library and Morrow plots.
The Society also holds open houses at the observatory on the first Friday
of every month (the next being Oct. 4). For more info on the U of I
Astronomical Society, visit our home page:
