Hello everybody!

We are having a wonderful summer session! We just had an excellent
workshop with Enio and Terryl, and people are asking, "What can we do now?"

Well, you are about to be recruited into the Brainstorming Illini, an
elite thinktank whose sole goal is to make the Dancing Illini the student
dance club to end all student dance clubs!

THE GROUND RULES:

This is a brainstorming session.

_ALL_ ideas are welcome.

_ALL_ ideas will be posted to &ltDANCING@UIUC.EDU&gt.

There will be _NO_ ridiculing or flaming of any ideas!

Discussion of any/all ideas will wait until the brainstorming process is
over (ie- when ideas peter out, or in a few weeks, whichever comes first).

I will moderate the brainstorm process, and maintain a list of ideas.
This list will be archived on the web page, under miscellaneous:
"Brainstorming Illini: New Ideas for our Club"

To paraphrase JFK: "Ask _BOTH_ what your club can do for you, _AND_ what
you can do for your club!"

To start the discussion, here are some ideas:

-Should we buy a VHS Camcorder?

-Should we have more/cheaper workshops?

-Should we buy more videos?

-Should we buy a projection TV to show videos in class/practice?

-Should we go back to partially funding BYU/USABDA-Florida/etc. dance
trips for members?

-Should we pay for hotels/food/admission at comps?

-Should we increase the private lesson rebate?

-Should we pay for transportation to other big
dance workshops/festivals/comps?

-Should the club hire tutors/pros to meet somewhere once a week for
two hours, and answer questions/provide help to anyone who asks?

-Club photos / Class photos?

-Buy a van?

-pay for a professional show at our comp?

-Formation team w/ costumes.
