The Urbana Country Dancers is sponsoring a workshop with Bob Bovee, from Lanesboro, Minnesota. On Friday, November 4, 2005, from 6:15 to 7:30 at the Anderson's Barn in Urbana.
Bob has always been fascinated by the West, Cowboys, western music and rodeos. He has collected some really fun, traditional cowboy songs and he has agreed to share some with us. He will be performing and teaching several of these songs at the workshop. He will also be offering tips for guitar accompaniment.
Tunes will be taught by ear so bring a tape recorder for taking tunes home for further learning.
The cost will be $10 at the door. Registration is a good idea, but not required. Though, it would really help to know how many chairs to have ready.
Schedule:
6:15 Registration, tune-up and warm-up----please be polite and be on time so you don't interrupt the workshop
6:30-7:30 Workshop
8:00-11:00 Contra dance with Bob Bovee and Gail Heil (additional cost of $5). Boneyard Creek Cloggers will be special guests.
