    Dancers,

I just saw something on this yesterday, tho't I'd pass on the info. I think it sounds GREAT!!!

A free screening of this dance film -- w/ reception following to meet the artists -- is scheduled for 3p Sunday, Aug 28th, in room 62 of the Krannert Art Museum. The film has a running time of 25 minutes.

"AfroSocialiteLifeDiva, a dance film made in Champaign-Urbana, integrates movement, story, and sound to reveal protraits of women in transformation. Through autobiographical and mythic stories, local choreographer Cynthia Oliver creates a work that follows the emotional and spiritual changes that take place from one generation to the next, from Harlem to the American South, to the Caribbean......"

The film "tells the story of a heroic woman, a composite of generations
of women whose body body expresses the physical poetry of her heritage."
