Hi Fans of Cajun/Creole/Zydeco Music and Dancing,
DexterArdoin (accordian) and his band (rubboard, bass, guitar, drums) will be in CU on Thurs, Feb. 17th. (Check out www.google.com - Dexter Ardoin - for LOTS more info.) If you are interested in exciting music, plus racial and/or cultural diversity -- the roots of this music are found in the unique, French-speaking, African-American culture of Louisiana -- please read on.....
Dexter and his band will be playing for an assembly @ Unity East Grade School @ 9a, and @ Cowboy Monkey @ 9p -- more on this latter soon, but mark your calendars now! They would like to play a couple of gigs between those times.
The good news is that the band is awesome, the music unlike anything 99% of CU folks have heard before. It'll blow them away! You'll be a hero for suggesting them!! The bad news is that the band wants $400 (only marginally negotiable) for each shorter gig during the day.
This really is a wonderful and unusual opportunity. If you think your group would be interested, or if you can suggest a person/group for me to contact, that'd be great.
