Classes Starting This Week!
Place: All classes are at the McKinley Foundation, upstairs in the
Westminster Hall (located on the corner of 5th and Daniel in Champaign)
Big Room with Air conditioning!
Free parking after 5pm in the university parking lot across the

Beginner Salsa Class

Fridays, 6:45 - 8:00 PM
October 15 - November 12
This class is for those of you who are new to the dance, or for those
who want a refresher course. This class will focus on the principles of
leading and following, basic steps and turns, and cross-body leads.
We will also teach Merengue & Bachata!

Intermediate Salsa Class

Fridays, 5:15 - 6:30 PM
October 15 - November 12
This class is for people who have taken any beginners class before and
want to develop their dancing. We will build on the basic steps and
turns, adding new steps, moves, and combinations.

Advanced Salsa Class

Tuesdays, 8:15 - 9:30 PM
October 12 - November 9
Advanced moves, turns, combinations, and footwork
PLEASE NOTE that the material covered will be the same as that offered
in the advanced class during the first summer session (May-June).
PLEASE NOTE also that this will be the last time this material is taught
so try not to miss out!
Prerequisite: being very comfortable at the intermediate level

Beginner New York Hustle

New York Hustle is a partner dance that originated in the Latin clubs of
New York and Miami in early 1970's. It is an exciting, fast-paced dance
that combines Latin rhythm, turns, and partner work with the styling
influences of ballet and martial arts.
Hustle is a modern and highly versatile dance, easily incorporating
moves from Cha-Cha, Mambo, Salsa, and Ballroom. It has grown to take a
prominent place beside Salsa at congresses in New York, Miami, Chicago,
LA, and other major cities. You can dance Hustle at any tempo to
Merengue, euro, house, latin house, and much other contemporary dance
music (see http://www.i-h-d-a.com/aboutthedance.htm) .
The beginning Hustle class is for Salsa dancers and others who would
like to learn a fun new dance that they can take to the club right along
with Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue. Instruction will focus on the Hustle
fundamentals of posture, footwork, partner connection, and turning.
Taught by Paul Jones and Muge
Each session (5 classes in total) is $30.
No partner is required.
