Research
Alpha synuclein fibrils structure
In January 2008, I joined both the TCBG group and the Rienstra group. My main focus in the TCBG and the Rienstra group is to study the alpha synuclein protein fibrils, which has been shown to be associated with Parkinson's Disease, by using solid-state NMR and Molecular Dynamics. I am currently working closely with Eric H. Lee in the TCBG and Kathryn Kloepper in the Rienstra group.
Mechanical properties of proteins
I am also working with Eric H. Lee in the study of mechanical properties of proteins by using Steered Molecular Dynamics. We are currently studying the 27th immunoglobulin (I27) domain of the muscle protein titin.
