MultiSeq with VMD, in its alpha release, is operable on the following
platforms:
- Macintosh OS X
- Solaris
- Linux
- Windows
To download VMD with MultiSeq, go to the following website:
http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/alpha/zs04/
- 1 Click on the link that corresponds with the operating
system on
which you wish to install MultiSeq.
- 2 You will be immediately prompted as to where you would
like to
download the compressed installation files. Choose the directory where
you wish to download the files and click the Save button.
- 3 Once VMD with MultiSeq has fully downloaded to your
computer,
unzip the files as appropriate for your operating system, and install
VMD with MultiSeq.
For the purposes of this tutorial, we ask that you use certain files
available for download at the above mentioned website.
The files have been compressed and are available for download in a zip
file entitled tutorial_aars.zip. Once the zip file have been downloaded
to your desktop, you need to unzip the tutorial_aars package.
- 4 A folder will appear on your desktop, entitled
tutorial_aars,
with all the files necessary for this tutorial. You will use this
directory to access various files necessary for this tutorial.
- 5 Start VMD.
- 6 In the terminal window for VMD, use the cd
command to
make sure you are in the tutorial_aars directory.
You are now prepared to begin the tutorial.
