FEP utility for binding estimation

Dear All,

I've just read the FEP tutorial, and I'm wondering if this approach can be
used to calculate more accurate values of free binding energy from
protein-ligand complexes. Is it possible?

Considering the difference in free energy from two states, bound ligand vs
un-bound ligand, it seems to me that a calculation could be done! or is
there something that I'm missing that make the application of this approach
not suitable?
