AW: Error on write to binary file

Two options:

1. Your hard disk is broken.

2. Some other software problem has occurred, restarting should fix this.

In any case, as long as the problem doesn’t occur again there’s not much effort on digging it down. If you face it again we can continue collecting the details and try to find the problem. If you want to check things in the meantime, use smartctl on the corresponding hard disk starting a self check. If this is a remote drive, this needs to be done on the server which exports this drive.

Betreff: namd-l: Error on write to binary file

Hello,

I have been running a simulation of PCL in water with metadynamics and the job was killed due to this error:

FATAL ERROR: Error on write to binary file again001w05.out.restart.coor: Input/output error

Why did it happen and how can I fix it?

Thank you,

Mihaela Drenscko
