question about NAMD on Kraken.

Hi, I'm looking to start some simulations on this system ASAP. I looked into the available modules and it appears the default is v2.8. I can apparently load a module containing 2.9, but I also noticed that Jim Phillips has compiled a number of versions as recently as last Thursday. Do people generally use the available modules or these more recently built versions?
