vdw value in parameter file

Hi everyone,
 My system include two kind of metal ions: strontium and nickle. I need the vdw value of them, i.e. epsilon and Rmin.
The existing parameter file include some familiar ions, chloridion,calcium, potass,sodium etc. But, for a unfamiliar ion , how can we establish the vdw parameter of it ?
I look for the methord for a long time , any answer will be appreciated!
