It may worth giving it a try with intel's compilers (noting their
restrictive license) and UDP instead of TCP.

These are charm flags. namd2 --help lists them. The +giga option is
mentioned in the release notes. The other flag is UDP-specific, search for
"maximum datagram UDP".
