HI Peter,
I think you're talking about the biochemists'
definition of a TS. When I think of the term "transition state", I
think of the intermediate in the reaction A + B ----> products,
where there is a "transition state complex" and an energy barrier of a
certain height. You people are obviously talking about something
different.
I'm thinking about the process folded protein
----> unfolded protein (or vice versa), with their being one
transition state. The rest of you aren't, I guess.
