So long as you have an up to date version of vmd/namd, you should be
able to treat them just like a normal topology file. However, you should
read the header of the str files; they usually have a warning that you
need to read in a parent topology file (like top_all22_prot.inp or
top_all22_na.inp) prior to reading them. This is because the str files
don't carry any atom type definitions on their own.
