Dear Paul,

         To convert a binary .coor to ASCII, just load the .coor file into
VMD (you must first load the appropriate .psf file), and then go to File
-> Save Coordinates, choose your molecule and export the file as .pdb.
The same procedure might work with the binary .vel file.

         For my simulations, even with "binaryoutput yes", the .xsc file is
in ASCII. So I am afraid I can't help you there.
